So, it was Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman during the re-shoot of Thor: The Dark World. The actress, speaking to NY Daily in an interview, revealed that she was already working on a new project when the re-shoot was underway and could not attend the shoot due to their conflicting schedule.
In the same interview, Natalie Portman then reveals that the makers of Thor: The Dark World chose to replace her with Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataki for the kissing scene. He said, “That’s why they put his (Chris) wife (Elsa) in my wig and dress, that’s why it was so emotional.”
This was revealed later in an interview given to W Magazine Chris He was the one who called for his wife to be brought to the scene. Hemsworth claimed that since Portman was not available, he was asked to pick out a bunch of girls to kiss and he decided to bring his wife, who was present at the place where they were shooting them. The actor said, “He (the director) said, ‘Do you want to choose one? Who do you want to kiss? ‘” He added, “And I said, ‘My wife is in the corner, let’s get her inside.'”
Now jumping to the present, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Natalie Portman’s Jane are ready to return to the 4th Thor movie titled ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’. The movie is directed by Tika Waititi and has a US release date of July 8, 2022.
