Samsung could be preparing to unveil the Galaxy Home Mini 2 very soon

Samsung unveiled the Home Hub display at CES 2022. It’s a new IoT hub equipped with a tablet-grade display that lets you control smart devices through the SmartThings platform. Unfortunately, the Home Hub will be available only in South Korea once it releases sometime in the first half of 2022. Our only hope for an IoT hub now is the rumored Galaxy Home Mini 2, which appears to be closing in on its debut.

SamMobile reported in November that Samsung is developing the Galaxy Home Mini 2 smart speaker with model number “SM-V320.” Details are scarce, but the smart speaker does exist, and as tipped recently by @MaxJmb, its debut shouldn’t be “too far away anymore.” In other words, the Galaxy Home Mini 2 launch should be happening soon, but, once again, availability details are hanging in the air.

Another Korea-exclusive Galaxy device?

The original Galaxy Home and Galaxy Home Mini never got released outside of South Korea, and there’s no telling if the Galaxy Home Mini 2 will, either. Last year, we heard whispers that Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Home Mini 2 exclusively in its home market, and our hopes haven’t gone any higher once we learned that the Home Hub isn’t going to be available outside of Korea.

The Galaxy Home Mini was a sort of test product meant to gather customer feedback before Samsung would commit to releasing a Bixby-powered smart speaker worldwide. The Galaxy Home Mini 2 could address some of the original model’s shortcomings and be released in larger quantities, though availability could once again remain limited to South Korea. We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge, which could be soon.
