To discuss about the set of circumstances related to novel Coronavirus, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Chief Ministers of various states today through video-conferencing. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also attending the conference being held for all practical purposes.
On Thursday, India reported over 2.47 lakh new cases within 24 hours, which shows 25% spike compared to yesterday. While, Madhya Pradesh has more than 14,400 active Covid cases and out of them, 13,862 patients are undergoing medical treatment in home isolation.
Delhi reports 188 Omicron cases today and hospitalisations have raised from 10-15 to 35-40 per day. To convey about Kerala state, it has recorded 59 more Omicron cases today, and among them, 42 are from low-risk countries, 5 are from high-risk countries and 9 through contact, and another 3 arrived from other states. So that, Kerala tallies 480 Omicron cases till today.
Preliminary data from a trial represented that its Covid-19 vaccine, Vaxzevria, works effectively against Omicron infection, conveyed by AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca has developed the vaccine with researchers from the University of Oxford, and lab studies organised by the university in December already found a triple dose course of Vaxzevria raised antibody levels in the blood against the Omicron.
